Alcatel Idol 4, full specifications
Alcatel Idol 4 is a very different smartphone and it also comes with a different packing style. Its VR is its box as you can see in the picture. You also get very first "boom key" feature with the smartphone. But its not over yet, you also get free JBL headphones with the smartphone. Its a smartphone that has every feature that you can spend around Rs. 18,000 on it.
The smartphone comes with VR kit that makes this smartphone really cool. The smartphone also features up side down screen and very great music quality.
One of the most impressive factor of the Idol 4 is its design. The phone has a metal and glass unibody design which is surprisingly lightweight to hold. On the rear is the camera module which sits flush with the body and the Alcatel logo in the center -the glass body with speaker grills on top and bottom gives the phone a unique look
Boom key deserves special mention as it acts as a one touch button for enhancing the user experience across the native apps and even works as the power-on button for right handed users.
Idol 4 has a 5.2-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This gives the screen a pixel density of 424 ppi - this keeps things on screen pin-sharp.
It include Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 2,610mAh battery.
Idol 4 runs a near stock Android 6.0 user interface with a few tweaks. Alcatel has changed the icon pack to add more colour to the screen along with support for gestures and VR.
Primary camera on the Idol 4 is a 13MP snapper with f2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus. While the focus and shutterspeedof the camera is fast, the image quality is just average.
Front 8MP camera has a selfie assist flash and a wide-anglelensbut again the image quality is average.
As a comeback device for Alcatel, the Idol 4 manages to impress on multiple levels but also has its shortcomings. We loved thedesign, rich user interface tweaks, VR performance, day to day performance and audio capabilities.
